Student of the Week
This year at AMS we are recognizing a "Student of The Week". They are nominated by teachers based on the qualities we look for as part of our Positive Behavior System (Cooperation, Attitude, Trust, and Support). We recognize a male and a female for every grade level each week. These students receive recognition and are announced to the whole school and are rewarded with Chick Fil A. We are proud of our students here at AMS!

21st Century
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Afterschool Program (21st CCLC) is a federally funded grant initiative to provide extended learning time and academic enrichment opportunities for at-risk students in grades K-8. The program will help students meet local and state academic standards in reading, math, and science. In addition, activities for youth development, drug and violence prevention, character education, art, and music may be provided. For parents, we offer educational and personal development opportunities for the families of students being served. The services of the 21st CCLC program, or some part thereof, may be altered, changed, or suspended at any time due to funding shortages.

The components of the program include:

  • Nutritious snacks, following USDA guidelines
  • Math, Reading, and Science Enrichment
  • Tutoring and Homework Assistance
  • Enrichment activities aligned to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering , Arts, & Math)
  • Field trips
  • Service learning projects through 4-H and other programs
  • Physical Fitness and Healthy Living Activities
  • Parent Involvement Activities and Informational Seminars
